Wedding Makeup FAQ

If you have any questions about your wedding makeup or booking me as your artist, here are some frequently asked questions that may help. If this page doesn't answer your question and you want to ask anything else please contact me using my online form and I'd be happy to assist. 

Do you travel to my venue on the day? 

Yes I do!


Travel within 15 miles of my home address in IP4, Ipswich is free. Additional mileage is charged at £0.50 per mile thereafter.

How many faces can you make up?

It is dependent on the time of your ceremony and how early we start but generally as many as you require! For large bookings with tight time constraints, I have several makeup artists contacts who can assist to ensure the smooth running of the morning. 

How long does makeup take on the day?

In the on the day schedule I allow 1 hour 15 minutes for the Bride and 1 hour per wedding guest - such as a Bridesmaid or Mother of the Bride as this includes cleaning brushes in between clients and prepping my clients skin with skincare. I always arrive around 15 minutes prior to the agreed start time to set up and I like to have all makeups complete around 45 minutes to 1 hour before you need to leave.

I highly recommend the Brides Makeup is done second to last - this gives you time to relax and plenty of time to get into your dress. Details such as timing for the day and running order for makeup will be fully planned in advance once we have a confirmed ceremony time.

How far in advance should I book my makeup?

To avoid disappointment I would advise booking anywhere between 12 and 18 months prior to your wedding to ensure you can secure your chosen wedding date, especially if it is on a weekend.

When should I have a makeup trial?

I highly recommend your trial takes place no sooner than 3-6 months before the wedding day. By this point in planning, all key details such as dress, colour schemes and themes will have been decided and you won't be worrying about changing your look last minute. In addition your skin and hair colour will be in line with how it will look on the day. I can accommodate earlier trials but ideally it's always best to have the trial as close to the wedding as possible. 


Please note I am rarely able to offer trials on Saturdays as these are reserved for weddings, if you do require a weekend trial booking for please contact me as soon as possible to arrange this.  

How should I prepare for my trial?

To get the most out of your trial I always suggest my brides to arrive for their trials with clean skin. Please bring a few photos that show how you would normally do your day-to-day makeup and some examples of how your would do it for a special occasion. It's also helpful if you can show me some examples of wedding makeup that you like, this could be photos from Pinterest / Instagram.

If you are also able to provide any information or visuals for how your wedding will be styled in general, then this can also be used as I create your bespoke bridal look -  a look that makes you feel ‘like you’ whilst looking stunning in your photographs.

How do I make a booking?

You can fill out the contact form on my website or by emailing me at I aim to reply to emails within 24 hours and can generate a quote once we have discussed your requirements. 


You can also drop me a message on any of my social media platforms but sometimes these go into a request section and I might not see them for a few days as I don't always get notifications. 

Will my makeup last all day?

Absolutely! I have spent a long time fine tuning my professional kit so that every item I use performs well - and most importantly lasts day and night. I use a variety of luxury brands such as Dior, MAC and Charlotte Tilbury which deliver long lasting results and look beautiful on all skin types. If you read my lovely reviews on you will notice a lot of the feedback comments on how well my makeup lasts.

Can I reserve a date without a deposit?

Unfortunately I cannot reserve dates without a deposit payment, this is due to the nature of my business and the number of inquires I receive.

Do you have a minimum person booking?

Between the peak season months of April-September there is a minimum person booking of 4 (Bride plus 3) on weekends.

A Surcharge will be payable if part of the original booking is cancelled between these months of the year.

What happens if I need to cancel my booking with you?

If you do need to cancel your booking please let me know as soon as you can so I may offer the appointment to other brides. 

The deposit is non refundable in event of cancellation.  Please carefully read the T&Cs included on the booking form which explain the time frames required for a cancellation - for cancellations less than 30 days before the event a percentage of the final balance fee occurs.
