Wilderness Reserve, Suffolk - Sibton Park wedding

Lucy and Joel’s October wedding at Wilderness Reserve, Suffolk, was one to remember. The vibe was modern, yet relaxed, effortless and fun - and the warmth of an autumn celebration really came through in the thoughtful decor and attire choices.

Set within the 6,000-acre Sibton Park estate - an expanse of lakes, ancient woodland and sweeping pasture - the couple gathered their closest friends and family for a weekend of love.

The celebrations unfolded across three days, beginning with the Wilderness firefeast the evening before the wedding. Guests dined beneath giant hat tipis, surrounded by sage green decor, soft foliage table runners and strands of fairy lights strung overhead. The atmosphere was lively and cosy, with everyone leaning into the pre-wedding excitement. There may have been a few sore heads the next morning, but spirits were high as the day began.

The setting: Georgian grandeur at Sibton Manor

The ceremony and reception took place at Sibton Manor, the grand Georgian house at the heart of the estate. Its light-filled Orangery offered an adaptable space for the day, opening out onto parkland that overlooks the lake. Even when a bit of rain encouraged everyone indoors after the ceremony, the celebrations continued seamlessly. Group photographs took place in the main sitting room, a space with intricate wallpaper that added richness and character to the images.

Stories From Eros, the photographers and videographers, captured the weekend with a focus on autumnal tones and the relaxed nature of the event. They described the experience as “homely”, reflecting the warmth that threaded through the entire celebration.

Lucy's warm and fresh-feeling bridal style

Lucy’s look epitomised the wedding’s aesthetic. She chose a minimalist dress with a corset top, a run of buttons down the spine and a long, flowing veil. A white neck scarf added a contemporary twist, allowing subtle glimpses of glowing highlighter across her collarbones.

Her makeup, by Emily from Emilly Chantal Makeup, centred on warm tones that worked in harmony with her natural undertones and her gold jewellery. The focus was fresh-looking skin, a soft hint of blush, and eye-enhancing shades that made her blue eyes stand out without overpowering the simplicity of her overall look.

Choosing makeup to suit warm or cool undertones

A key part of planning Lucy’s makeup was identifying her warm undertones. Skin undertones fall into three broad categories: warm, cool or neutral.

Warm undertones often pair well with gold jewellery, earthy eyeshadows and peachier blushes. Cool undertones tend to suit silver jewellery and rosier or berry shades. One quick way to get an idea is by looking at the colour of the veins on your wrist: green-leaning veins can suggest warm undertones, while blue-leaning veins may indicate cool.

However, guidance like this is only ever a starting point. It’s your wedding day, and what matters most is choosing shades and finishes that make you feel confident and comfortable. Personal preference always has a place.

The wedding party and details

Lucy’s bridesmaids brought big energy and a vibrant burst of colour, wearing dresses in jewel and autumnal hues including purple, burgundy, burnt sienna, dusky blue and copper.

Their bouquets mirrored this palette, tying the group together while allowing each bridesmaid to express her own style. Full of beans - despite the lively firefeast the night before - the bridal party set the tone for a celebratory and joyful day.

The weekend concluded with a wild swim and pool party on the estate, continuing the good vibes and tying together a wonderful wedding.
